Day 70

I went out with my mom for dinner tonight, spontaneously. I think spontaneity is a GREAT thing, but not always when it comes to food. If I had known that I was going out for dinner, I would have ate much lighter earlier in the day. What I already ate, I really could not take back, but I could have been much wiser when ordering dinner. This was one of those times when I think that I am eating healthy, but am still eating way too many calories. I ordered a chicken/fish combo, which sounded great. But, then it also comes with soup, salad, vegetables, and dessert! That is more than enough to take up all my calories for the day!

Breakfast:
2 nutrigrain bars 241

Lunch:
Half tomato mozzarella on ciabatta hot panini 380
Half grilled chicken Caesar salad 250

Day 68

I can be a little messy at work, so I tend to go through work clothes pretty fast. My uniform is khaki colored pants, and a polo shirt. Before I started working at Panera, I never would have imagined how difficult it is to find khakis in my size. I don't want to spend a lot of money on them, since I am losing weight, and they don't last long anyway, so I am always looking whenever I am at Goodwill, or any kind of thrift store. I find plenty of size twos and sixes, but it is near impossible to find any in my size, let alone a pair that I like. A couple weeks ago, I found a pair that were my size, but way too tight to wear. They were only about $3, so I got them. I wore them for the first time today, and they fit really good! A little short, but that's not a big deal. Here's a pic:

Day 67

I was out on a date tonight, and we found a nice-looking Thai-Indian Cuisine restaurant. We decided to try it, and I am glad we did, just hoping it wasn't TOO many calories. We split the meal, a coconut chicken soup, Naan bread, and a wonderful chicken dish. The meal was PHENOMENAL! I would say it was the best meal I've had in quite some time. There is really no way to know for sure how many calories was in the meal, but I think a safe educated guess is 800. If it was less, that would be super.

Breakfast:
Cinnamon swirl and raisin bagel with reduced fat cream cheese 450

Lunch:
Cup of broccoli cheddar soup 190
Half grilled chicken Caesar salad 250
Fresh fruit cup 50

Day 66

Drum roll please...I am at the LOWEST weight I've been at in years! I've tried losing weight several times in the past 5-6 years, and the lowest I've ever gotten before giving up was a half a pound more than I am now. I've thought so many times that I was just not able to lose weight, but this proves that I am, and encourages me to keep going. I'm excited to wear a bikini next summer!

Breakfast:
Everything bagel with reduced fat cream cheese 430

Lunch:
Grilled chicken Caesar salad 510
Watermelon fruit cup 30
French baguette 150

Day 65

I've been wanting to try Dunkin' Donuts' new Blueberry Waffle breakfast sandwich pretty much since it came out. I love blueberries, I love waffles, and I love sandwiches, so it sounded pretty great. I figured it would be way too many calories to ever try, so I never even considered it until one day. Today, I saw that sign, with it's delicious looking and very appealing marketing strategy, and curious, I decided to look up the calorie count on my handy iPhone. To my surprise and utter delight, the sandwich was only 550 calories. I like to keep my breakfasts around 500-600 calories, so that fit right in. Considering this, I decided to go for it. I'm not sure I would give it an A+, but it was definitely a tasty and satisfying breakfast.

Today I managed to stay within my calorie limit, but I still ate pretty bad. I hate eating junk food, especially for breakfast. Whenever I do, I feel horrible and either way too full or am hungry shortly after. I also believe that eating a small amount of junk food leaves you wanting more. I need to try to eat healthy breakfasts from now on, so I don't get stuck in that cycle.

Day 55

I was super hungry today! I had to eat something filling for lunch, so I went for a you-pick-two with a sandwich, since I had a small breakfast. I almost always get a bowl of soup instead of a cup, because it is a lot more filling for only a few more calories. I LOVE our new Lemon Chicken Orzo soup! I've been eating it as much as possible before it's gone, and after that, I'm going to have to learn how to make it!

Breakfast:
2 nutrigrain bars 240

Bowl lemon chicken orzo soup 160
Half Italian combo 490

Day 52

Today was my day off, so of course, I slept in. When I woke up, I ate two clementines, and then ended up going back to sleep for a couple hours. Lazy day. I had to meet with the other bridesmaids for the wedding I'm in to work on some things, so I headed out for that without eating anything for lunch. A few hours later, I wad STARVING, and luckily, my mom was cooking steak for dinner. I know it was a mistake to eat all of my calories late in the day, but I think I still did ok.

Dessert:
Ice Cream 400

Total:

Day 51

My best friend met me for dinner after work today, and she wanted to go to Chipotle. I know that calories can add up fast at places like that, so we split a burrito which worked out great. I love splitting meals whenever possible, because it's normally just the right amount of food.

Breakfast:
Apple 90
Peach 30
Everything bagel with reduced fat cream cheese 430

Lunch:
Bowl lemon chicken orzo soup 160
Half Thai chopped chicken salad 200

Day 50

Today was a long, slow day. I didn't sleep much last night, but forced myself to make wise choices anyway. My managers bribed me to stay late with a drink or food, so I got a soy latte. I've never tried soy milk before, but a friend from work swears by it, so I wanted to try it. I'll never go back to skim again. Our soy milk is the same number of calories as skim milk, but it's a little thicker, and is vanilla flavored, so it tastes really yummy.

Breakfast:
Peach 30
Apple 90
Nutrigrain bar 120

Lunch:
Bowl Lemon Chicken Orzo soup 160
Half Mediterranean veggie 300
French baguette 150

Snack:

Can of progresso chicken tortilla soup 220

Total:

Day 49

Today, on my way home from work, I was thinking about food. I was wondering why people eat what they do. What causes people to make the deliberate choice to put something into their bodies that they know will not benefit it? I don't know if this is anything new, or if it has been "scientifically" proven or not, but I really believe that food gives a natural, very temporary high. I know for a fact that I make my worst choices when I have had little sleep, have low energy, or am feeling depressed. Eating food that is high in calories just makes you feel happy. It gives you that little extra boost...for a little while. Then an hour later, you usually feel worse than you did before. I am reading a book by Peter Walsh called "Does this Clutter make my Butt look Fat?" In it, he says several things that have really hit home with me. Concerning making choices he says: "Every roll of fat on your body came from something you chose to put into your mouth. And every pound that slips away is going to be because of a decision you make." This statement is very motivating, yet chastising for me. Peter is basically saying that you are fat because of one person - yourself - and you are the only one that can change that.

Nutrigrain bar                                             120

Day 48

I ate WAY too much yesterday. It was the holiday, and I did what most people do: I ate without thinking. Believing that since it is a holiday, calories don't count.

I got on the scale this morning and I am very close to gaining all my weight back. I can't play any more games. I need to do something drastic. I am doing a semi-detox this week, and hoping I can do it for a lot longer than just this week. I am going to be eating nothing but fruit, vegetables, low-calorie soup, salad, chicken and other lean meat (and nutrigrain bars when I'm in a hurry.) Today is my brother's birthday, and I will be eating yogurt or fruit instead of cake.

Breakfast:
2 nutrigrain bars                                         240

Lunch:
Greek salad                                               380

Dinner:
Bowl broccoli cheddar soup                       290

Day 46

Today was kind of a weird day. I was really hungry this morning, so I ate a lot for breakfast. I wasn't really hungry at lunch time, but ate a bowl of soup anyway. By the time I got out of work, I felt bloated and said I wasn't going to eat anything the rest of the night. I took a nap when I got home, and of course, was hungry when I got up. So, I went downstairs, and the fastest thing I could find was a donut and potato salad. I got to bed real late last night, so I think the lack of sleep caused my poor decisions for today. Tomorrow is Independence Day, and I have to be super careful, or I'm going to gain all my weight back. I am contemplating fasting a day next week, probably on a day off from work, just in case I get light-headed.

Breakfast:
Cinnamon swirl and raisin bagel with reduced fat cream cheese
Everything bagel with reduced fat cream cheese 750

Lunch:
Bowl of broccoli cheddar soup with French baguette 430

Dinner:
Some potato salad and a donut  400?

     Total:

Day 45

Today, I was out on a date, and we spent time exploring. We found a lot of great stuff! - hotdogs, cupcakes, fries...lol. We actually did make one find that was pretty great. We found an adorable cupcake shop in Collingswood, NJ called "My Little Kupkake." Everything there looked delicious, but I have always been a sucker for peanut butter. We split the peanut butter cupcake. It was AMAZING. It had real peanut butter cups on top of it, and a peanut butter center. I'm going to start drooling just thinking about it. Later on, we split a dinner at a restaurant. It was a pasta dish with chicken in a delicious vodka sauce. This dish is something I would love to try to re-create at home. I'm guessing at the calories for both of these things based on what I found online.

Breakfast:
Half Moes burrito 300

Lunch:
Chili cheese coney from Sonic and half large fries from Chick-fil-a 415

Snack:
Half chocolate peanut butter cupcake 140
